What about this guy we know as Al ?

Al is a tough cookie. When I use that term, you need to understand something. I have watched Al over the years interacting with kids of all ages, and they love him. He brings the children's messages on Sunday mornings. As 'scary' as he might seem at first, the kids flock to him like the pied piper as he shares the gospel messages with them at their own level.

I have also seen him angry. He is just like you and me, and he does get upset from time to time. I watched his reaction when his bike was hit in my driveway after a Bible study at my home. I know Al well enough, that when he is quiet, he is upset. But, as a true follower of Christ, he also doesnt let his anger get the best of him.

Why do I say these things? Because Al is a fighter, and that is what he is doing right now. And we need to fight for him with our prayers. We need to be interceding for him constantly every minute and every hour, fo as long as it takes. Right now Satan is waring against him, and we must defeat the deceiver.

I know Al would be right there in the trenches for so many of us, if we were the one laying there in the hospital, so we must reciprocate for him. I agree with his daughter when she said last night, "I have never seen him so vulnerabe."

Al is a fighter.

  1. The Lord knows what became evident to me over the last few years, that Al is a man who is confident in his God.

Al's God is powerful and faithful. May the good reports continue to come in.

  2. When I was a teen (I'm 29 now) Al was a beloved youth leader at my church. We called him "Beaner" because he was a big fan of the L.L. Bean catalog. Anyway, he was a great youth leader, and I imagine makes a great pastor. I'm definitely praying for him.
