Getting Up?
Today, after Al was in his new room, a lady next to him was in pain and vocal about it. At one point Al attempted to sit up in order to get out of bed to help her. Al is looking good with his new hair dew, or lack of hair, and all clean shaven. I wonder how long it will be until he wants his beard back? As far as the swallowing test, it went better this time than the last, and there will be another one tomorrow.

Kristen here again I just thought everyone would find it amusing that the nurses started calling my dad their supervisor because he keeps scanning the room and really watching them. The view that he has from the window is of 78 and in the distance is the peak of steel force and the windmill at the Davinci Science Center. He was giving a lot of facial expressions and it seemed to attempt to talk but it was just not working out to well for him. I talked to a representative from Good Shepherd rehab yesterday and she walked me through a few details one being that my dad will need 3-4 days worth of clothing the funny part is when she said "they don't need to be anything fancy just something comfortable". I almost started cracking up so now I have to go through his shirts to find ones that are fitting for his situation. He is doing really well and everyday I seem to be getting more of my 'normal' dad back.
ReplyDeleteKristen,
ReplyDeleteI'm a coworker of your father and I'm so glad he is healing a little each day. When you were talking about getting his cloth together for Good Shepherd my first thought was maybe you could take one of his klits, I know how much your father would like that. I wish all the best for your father and you. What a great day it will be when we have the 'normal' Al back! He is such a great person.
