When I looked at the phone as it rang, it told me Herb was calling me. The muffled voice on the other end said, "hi Mitch, how are you doing?" And it WAS NOT Herb! You imagine my suprise when I realized it was Al calling me. And to top it off, he was asaking how I was doing!!
I wasn't the only one that received a call today. Herb also got one earlier. Amazing!
God is amazing. Let this whole scenario sink in for a minute....... Now tell me how awesome and amazing God is. You just never know who will be calling you. Like I said in an earlier post, "look for something amazing this week." I just have to leave my office and go see him!!

Wow, how amazing is that!? I have been praying for Pastor Al. I don't know him, but this touched me. Praise to Our Lord! I will continue to pray for his complete recovery. There are people out here you don't even know who love ya, Al, and are praying for you. I know I am! Thanks for the updates, Mitch!
ReplyDeleteIt's been funny because whenever I get a call from a number I know or don't right now if I don't hear anything right away I say "hi dad" he called me twice today. He is doing very well in therapy and is walking almost completely independent there is always someone with him but he seems pretty stable. Things have been going very well and all of the staff at the rehab have been really amazed with how well he is recovering. They push him very hard and he is so tired by the end of the day but it is really good to see.
ReplyDeleteThank you all !! God has been working in so many ways , to help Al and help his daughter , to have this blog, to keep hearing all these great things ( and to give the man behind the screen the wonderful words he shared with us all ) . We , KidsPeace staff really miss him and have been praying hard for his full recovery !! It will be weird to see Al with no hair but it will be great to see Al !!!
ReplyDeleteI work at Kidspeace on the switchboard and yesterday my coworker received a call and it was Al calling to talk to his supervisor. What a great feeling to receive that call from Al.
ReplyDeleteI wish him all the best!
I also work at KidsPeace and cannot tell you how happy I am to hear Al is making such amazing progress. He is missed and thought about everyday here at KidsPeace. People like myself who really don’t know him all that well are praying for him. When I get to my desk in the morning the first thing I do is check your post. Thank you Mitch for updating this post regularly. How profound is it that in a way Al’s accident has changed my life.
ReplyDeleteI'm from KidsPeace also and ditto to what the others have said. We look forward to his wearing his kilt each St. Patty's Day.
